The
herb known as savory has a savory flavor. In fact, it is often planted
near beehives in order to flavor honey. The Romans once used it to
flavor vinegar and the English used it for breading meat and fish.
Savory has had other historical uses as well, including changing libido!
Savory is part of the mint family and so it is no surprise that it
has the tasty flavor of mint, as well as thyme. Its needle-like leaves
grow up to one inch long. It has erect stems and whorls of blossoms
in the summer and through the fall.
Sorrel is an easy grower and a totally hardy herb- a pleasant herb
for the novice or knowledgeable gardener.
